Aspen Plus is a market-leading process modeling tool for conceptual design, optimization, and performance monitoring for the chemical, polymer, specialty chemical, metals and minerals, and coal power industries. Aspen Plus is a core element of AspenTech’s aspenONE™ Process Engineering applications.

Comprehensive library of unit operation models to address a wide range of solid, liquid, and gas processing equipment. The open architecture lets you build your own libraries of unit operation models with Aspen Custom Modeler® or programming languages. CAPE-OPEN compliant models can be also be used with Aspen Plus.
Workflow automation. Aspen Plus models can be linked to Microsoft Excel® using Aspen Simulation Workbook or Visual Basic® and used to automate the engineering workflow and deploy the model to a wider range of end users in the field.
Links to third-party tools. Aspen Plus includes links to several well-known tools including the OLI’s electrolyte package and Technip’s SPYRO ethylene cracker models.

نرم افزار ASPEN به دلیل دارا بودن تمامی فرآیندهای موجود در صنایع نفت و گاز و پتروشیمی و فرآیندهای الکترونیکی و غذایی و حتی واحدهای تولیدی پلیمری محدوده بسیار بزرگی را فراهم آورده است. مانند طراحی برج ها ی تقطیر و جذب و مبدل های حرارتی که در زمینه مهندسی مکانیک و شیمی بسیار اهمیت پیدا کرده است. تاریخچه شکل گیری این نرم افزار بر می گردد به زمانی که تعدادی از دانشگاه ها ی معتبر امریکا شروع به تعریف یک سری پایان نامه هدف دار در زمینه طراحی تجهیزات فرآیندی نمودند باز می گردد. در این نرم افزار می توانید شبیه سازی فرآیندهای نفتی و الکترولیتی و پلیمری و فرآیندهای شیمیایی را می باشد. و شبیه سازی واحدهای پیشرفته پالایشگاهی و راکتورهای FCC و ریفرمینگ کاتالیستی را نیز انجام دهد. این نرم افزار داری قدرت های نا محدودی در شبیه سازی و مدلسازی دینامیکی و فرآیندها می باشد. یکی از مهمترین قسمت های مهندسی شیمی را به خود اختصاص می دهد. در این نرم افزار قادر به حل تمامی موازنه های جرم دیفرانسیلی و جبری می باشد. و دسترسی به ضرائب سنتیکی و ترمودینامیکی را راحت تر کرده است. از جمله آن ها می توان به دقت بالای آن در شبیه سازی دقیق فرآیندها اشاره کرد. این نرم افزار متشکل از نرم افزار های HYSYS و ChemCAD و چند نرم افزار مطرح در مهندسی می باشد. که تمامی این نرم افزار ها دارای معایب و محاسنی می باشند که همگی در این نرم افزار جمع شده اند و مشکلات آن ها رفع شده است.
